Add-on An Additional Full-Spectrum Heater To Your Clearlight Infrared® Sauna
Clearlight would like to remind users that this should not be taken as direct medical advice, and users should always consult a medical professional if complications arise from prolonged use.
Infrared Therapy has recently evolved from a technology utilised in alternative medical practices, to an at home and accessible health trend.
With more and more peer-reviewed papers being published, it’s no surprise that these products have had tremendous technological improvements over the years.
One thing to remember is that these technological improvements develop in the shape of better products and not necessarily improved health benefits of infrared wavelengths themselves.
Clearlight Infrared® Saunas utilises a unique feature. Introducing our Integrative Wellness Enhancements, the ability to upgrade and add-on additional wellness technologies on your Clearlight Infrared® Sauna, transforming it into a complete health and wellness tool.
Our True Wave II™ Full Spectrum Mini Heater (FS Mini for short) is a compact version of the True Wave II™ Heaters that you will find at the front of our Sanctuary™ Sauna models. Providing an extra 300 watts of full spectrum heat to your sauna model will not only slightly increase the maximum temperature of your overall session, but also provides better accessibility to the therapeutic benefits of full spectrum infrared.
Compatible with our Sanctuary™ Sauna models for additional heat and accessibility, as well as our Premier™ Sauna models, allowing you to upgrade from only far-infrared, to a complete full spectrum of infrared.

The most common ‘type’ of infrared wavelength for infrared saunas are far-infrared wavelengths. This is commonly noted as the ‘most beneficial’ type of infrared wavelength due to its ability to travel long distances without dispersing and becoming ineffective.
Clearlight Infrared® Saunas has always utilised a unique type of far-infrared heater called the True Wave™ Heater. This patent pending technology is unique in a multitude of ways.
The first being that True Wave™ Heaters are extremely low EMF and ELF producing heaters, a claim that many competitive manufactures make without evidence. Take a look at the rigorous testing our Clearlight Infrared® Saunas undergo here.
Combining the True Wave™ Heaters with our signature Clearlight EMF/ELF shielding technology provides the safest and most reliable infrared sauna bathing experience every time.
The second technological advancement of our True Wave™ Heaters is that they are a hybrid of carbon and ceramic heaters. A fusion of both carbon and ceramic materials ensures the longest wavelengths are produced at the highest output. This means that the far-infrared wavelengths produced by your True Wave™ heaters are the most efficient and effective in providing therapeutic benefits.
Last but not least, the third advancement in our True Wave™ Heaters is a simple yet important one.
It’s all about the placement.
Infrared therapy is effective because it heats the body directly, and not the air around. This is the main difference between infrared saunas and traditional saunas, where infrared saunas use emissivity to heat you and traditional saunas use convection.
Clearlight Infrared® Saunas have specifically been designed to concentrate the heat from the True Wave™ Heaters directly to your core. This ensures that the maximum absorption of therapeutic heat is achieved.
Take a look at our Premier™ Sauna models that utilise our patent-pending True Wave™ Far-infrared Heaters here.
But this isn’t the only infrared wavelength that has been developed for therapeutic benefits. Near-infrared and mid-infrared are two other wavelengths that have been used extensively for health treatments and provide similar yet slightly different benefits.
Clearlight Infrared® Saunas founder, Dr. Rayleigh Duncan went on to develop the True Wave II™ FS Heater, which incorporated all three wavelengths, near-infrared, mid-infrared and far-infrared, all in one heater and coining the term full-spectrum.
We have a range of medical studies and papers on the proven health benefits of infrared technology that you can read here.
The discovery of a single form of infrared wavelength dramatically minimising the overall therapeutic abilities that the infrared-heaters could offer, specifically the modalities of near-infrared and mid-infrared wavelengths, caused Clearlight Infrared® Saunas to invest in a new form of heater.
Clearlight founder, Dr. Rayleigh Duncan explains his coined term, Full-Spectrum, by stating, “we wanted to convey three different bandwidths of infrared, namely far, mid and near, so that’s all we’re saying”.
Over the past 10 years, the use of infrared technology for healing purposes boomed, and with the internet and increased popularity of e-commerce, this caused the sauna industry to become flooded with numerous startup sauna companies. Many of these startup sauna companies had little understanding of the scientific and medical considerations for the therapeutic benefits of infrared therapy. Subsequently offering low cost, low-quality, and sometimes toxic infrared saunas. To this day, cheaper companies continue to use the term 'Full-Spectrum', with little to no understanding of the infrared technology.
Clearlight Infrared® Saunas was the first to produce infrared heaters that utilised full-spectrum wavelengths and has continued to make the most technological advancements in with the heater panels since then. These patented advancements come from the bulbs, materials, and engineering designs that are exclusive to Clearlight Infrared® Saunas, offers premium, non-toxic infrared therapy.
LED bulbs for infrared therapy is a great technology, especially for near-infrared wavelengths. The benefits of LED bulbs is the low wattage they use to produce high-quality near-infrared. Although near-infrared is extremely effective for topical treatments, the downside is the LED must be directly over the intended treated area at a close distance. This is why LED bulbs for infrared heaters aren’t effective for their healing and health benefits, especially in saunas. To receive the healing benefits of LED bulb heaters in a sauna would require you to have the surface area of your body directly up against the heater (visualize a gecko clinging onto a wall).
Halogen bulbs for infrared therapy offer great diversity in infrared wavelengths, as well as impactful heat. Not only are they energy efficient to run, but they also heat up quickly in comparison to other heaters. These factors, along with the power of the halogen bulbs, and the disadvantages of LED bulbs that are mentioned above, are the core reasons why Clearlight Infrared® Saunas use a type of halogen bulb in the patented True Wave® full-spectrum heaters.

8 tips to get the most out of your Infrared Sauna
Discover proven ways to supercharge your infrared sauna experience.
The difference between Clearlight Infrared® Sauna heaters, also known as True Wave™ heaters is the patent. Because they have an incredibly low EMF/ELF, and are the only infrared heaters to combine both carbon and ceramic heaters into one complete heater. Taking the advantages of carbon heaters - being the longest infrared wave output - and combining it with the advantages of the ceramic heater - being the highest infrared output.
It's for these reasons Clearlight Infrared® Saunas patented full-spectrum heaters, True Wave™ Heaters is the best infrared-sauna heater on the market today.
